The Challenge
This residential property was affected by extreme incontinence-related hoarding, with every main room assessed at severe level. Large quantities of used incontinence pads and general waste had rendered the kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, and lounge unusable.
The bathroom door could only be opened a few inches due to pad build-up, and strong odours intensified throughout the property. Additional risks included rodent activity, lack of heating and water, significant trip hazards, and unreported maintenance issues.
The environment presented immediate health, fire, and infection risks, requiring urgent specialist biohazard intervention.

Rooms were inaccessible due to extensive waste and incontinence pad accumulation. Hygiene conditions had deteriorated to a level requiring full biohazard controls.
The Process
Our team carried out a high-risk, compassionate biohazard clean, working with full PPE and specialist equipment.
Nearly a tonne of incontinence waste was removed for licensed biohazard disposal, alongside large volumes of general waste. Contaminated furniture and appliances were removed, and all affected areas were fully disinfected using hospital-grade products.
Deep cleaning was completed in the kitchen and bathroom, with odour control and air sanitation applied throughout. Where possible, the resident was supported and involved to minimise distress during the process.
Additional goodwill support was provided, including replacement furniture and coordination with partner charities to help stabilise the home environment.
The Result
The transformation was significant.
The bathroom was fully cleared, the kitchen restored to usable condition, and living spaces made accessible once again. Odours were dramatically reduced, contamination removed, and the property stabilised to support ongoing care and follow-up support.
